In this presentation different options for design automation in SOLIDWORKS will be compared. It will be demonstrated how to automate the design of the cabinet assembly allowing users to enter input parameters (width, height, depth, number of drawers, types of handles, doors, material etc.) using SOLIDWORKS Design Tables and Configuration Publisher, DriveWorks and SOLIDWORKS API and macro features. Different scenarios of collecting user inputs (e.g. web interface, property manager page) and connecting the parameters to external data sources (e.g. SQL server, Excel tables) will be demonstrated.
